I'll keep this brief as I know very little about medical matters. I do however resist ALL vaccinations. I work in a medical facility (as a graphic artist) where flu and hepatitis B shots are strongly encouraged. Of course, most employees who have contact with patients get the shots and some actually become ill for a few days as a result. Not only is watching them scary, but I personally have never had the flu in the 8 years that I have been employed here.

Meanwhile, the doctor for my three children is insisting that they all get the hepatitis shots. My wife relented when she had the two boys there, but I refused to have my daughter vaccinated when I brought her for her annual checkup. He became quite irate about it. I explained to no avail that I am at the half century mark now and when I was growing up, there were no vaccinations for hepatitis. Most important is the fact that no one I knew ever contracted the disease. He didn't buy it, but I didn't relent. The current school of thought appears to me to be overkill.

Now here's something I can comment on... the administration's desire to have Americans vaccinated. I have never been as cynical as I am now about a President [sic]. It's almost reached the point where I don't even have to think about my position on an issue. If bu$h is for it, it MUST be bad. EVERYTHING the man does is anti-American, pro-business. His sole concern seems to be redistribute the nation's wealth, limiting freedoms, and of course, getting reselected.

So, are smallpox vaccinations a good idea? If bu$h thinks so, DEFINITELY NOT.
